Coasties drink coffee? Who knew? Starting in September, 2018, some Desert Coasties began meeting monthly for coffee

and camaraderie.

After a hiatus of many months

due to COVID-19, the Desert Coasties gathered outdoors for a coffee mess. Pastries were provided by Linda Bonville and a tribute was displayed for CDR Cy Potts (ret.) who had crossed the bar.

Maureen Kosnik's (pictured) brother, Vincent Costello had served aboard the USCGC Bering Strait and had this painting of it commissioned. New Desert Coastie Curtis Cruikshank served aboard the ship and is pictured (left) holding it with Maureen and Bob Bonville.
