January 20, 2022 - Sunshine Knitters Presentation
The Sunshine Knitters in Tucson knit hats, scarves, gloves, and more for homeless veterans. The Desert Coasties, skippered by Bob Bonville pick up the items and deliver them to the American Legion Madera Post 131 Auxiliary for further distribution to the VA in Tucson. Their yearlong project ensures that homeless vets know that someone cares about them. To thank the Sunshine Knitters for their efforts, the Desert Coasties presented them with a flag display representing all the services and included the American flag and POW/MIA flag.
